Hey all!!!!

I am leaving for Lake Shasta en la mañana and I will be back August 31st!

Have a wonderful week and I shall be back soon :)

Loves,

Long Run Saturday

Good morning all!!!!

This morning I enjoyed 1/2 a double fiber english muffin with (1) scrambled egg w/ cheese. SO delicious! While I made my scrambled egg, I gnawed on grapes and gouda cheese. I love love love fruit w/ delish cheese, if you were to add a hard bread roll or french bread baguette, I'd be done for. Perfection!

Yesterday's workout was awesome! My iPod died near the end of it {totally throwing off my groove}, I need to remember to charge that thing every now and again... oops. ANYWAY... the workout was...
Warm up 1 mile
Hard run 1/2 mile
Easy run 1/2 mile
Hard run 1/2 mile
Cool down 1/2 to 1 mile

Amazing calorie torcher! It felt so good! Today's workout is quite simple.... run 4 miles. Easily stated.... we shall see how it goes in, actual, execution!

My family, family friends, and I are leaving for Lake Shasta tomorrow morning to play it up on a house boat for a week. SWEET! It's one of my favorite family getaways, BUT I need tips on how to keep up my cardio/workouts when I'm beached on some random cove and confined to a "box" for a living arrangement with 3 other families. Close quarters, people. ack! ANYWAY.... I figure I'll do TONS of swimming and just be constantly moving but it's going to be weird not running everyday?

Any vacation tips? Workout ideas? Please share!

Friday Five

Friday Five

Welcome to Friday Five where I share 5 randoms about ME!

1. I am currently reading The Hunger Games... it's keeping my interest but the mushy lovey stuff is getting in the way of the mass murder arena thing. Less gush, more gore! Ok, I'm not really serious about wanting more gore, but props to Suzanne Collins for a clever and twisted plot line. I like! Not that Collins would care, but this has received the Heather Stamp of Approval.

2. I am OBSESSED (yes obsessed) with Chobani Greek Yogurt. Freaking delicious and a great source of protein. I love gnawing on this for breakfast with 1/2 a Double Fiber English Muffin. Leaves me full and satisfied. Give Chobani a try! Pomegranate is my favorite flavor, but all of them are pretty freaking awesome!
3. I am the great secret keeper! All through high school and college, I was the person that people opened up to... I guess I just have one of those faces? Is that the correct phrase? Whatever, moving on... I know many things about many people. I won't tell a soul, though, so feel free to go into politics peeps! Secrets to the grave!

4. My favorite vacation I have ever been on with my family was to Key Largo, FL. We went scuba diving, played on wave runners, ate pizza on the dock while the sun set, ordered Piña Coladas with little umbrellas on the beach, pet a manatee, and played with a sea turtle. It was incredible and WAY too much fun.

5. I talk in my sleep. I babble on about crap and if you catch me at the right time, you can usually get me to engage in a random conversation with you. Be careful, though, I have been able to tell when someone isn't telling me the truth... Rachel was messing with my sleep talkyness and I responded in a very creepy monotone voice "you're lying to me." Freaked her out for sure. Oh... and if you happen to get me and Rachel in the same room while we're sleeping, you might be able to catch us have a conversation in our sleep to one another from across the room. Last time we were caught doing this we were talking about sparkles and glitter. Ya. We're cool.

Half Marathon Training

I started training for my half marathon yesterday... I can't believe it. I am training for a half marathon. I don't think that's going to sink in for a while... I'm training for a half marathon? Moving on....

Monday's Workout
1. 20 min warm up light run
2. 1/4 mile hard run
3. 50 squats
Repeat 2 & 3 three more times
(yes my quads were crying today)

Today's Workout
Warm up 5 min
Run 40 min
Cool down 5 min
(I just walked out the rest of the hour)

I've been listening to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone while I run and I LOVE it. I like switching to my music playlist now and then that contains my favorite running songs when I feel like giving up on running... then I switch back to HP. It's nice. I highly recommend audiobooks, they ROCK. This was actually a recommendation made by one of my favorite bloggers... Running Off the Reese's

Happy 56th Disneyland!

Today marks the 56th "birthday" of my favorite place on Earth... Disneyland! I'm a complete cheeseball when it comes to all things Disney. I, generally, don't cry. I'm mildly heartless, but if you pop in a Disney movie and if you watch me closely, you may just see a tear or two. I love Disney!

I cannot wait to start my job with Disney, exactly one month from today. It is a dream come true and I couldn't be more proud to say that I will work where Walt Disney, himself, once walked. Not only did Walt Disney create one of the most formidable companies in the world, but he created something that every man and woman, of any age, could love and experience magic. Disney can help dreams come true and I cannot wait to be apart of the Disney Magic. I hope that everyone could find a job with a company that they love as much as I LOVE Disney.
So grab your favorite Disney movie and a friend and enjoy the magic that you once loved as a child and let it happen for you all over again. Come visit The Happiest Place On Earth and walk down Main Street, U.S.A., just as Walt Disney did!

Friday Five

Friday Five

Welcome to Friday Five where I share 5 randoms about ME!

1. As we all know, I LOVE Disney. My favorite Disney movie, of ALL time is...
The Little Mermaid
It was the first movie I saw in theaters and I was hooked ever since. It's probably the reason why I love the ocean and swimming SO much.

2. You know how some people overeat when they're upset or stressed? I do the exact opposite. I forget to eat! I just lose my appetite entirely.

3. I am watching Minority Report right now... what is this movie even about!? I am not a fan of Tom Cruise... He's just so strange and can only play one character... Weird, chatty, secret agent type...
Oh, and don't even get me started on Nicolas Cage. His acting is TERRIBLE! The voice!? I mean really, it NEVER changes.

4. I LOVE rolls. LOVE. They are my idea of a perfect dessert. When my friends would go out for ice cream or something, I would stop at the grocery store with the best butterflake rolls in town. Jeffy's rolls are the best... but the man won't share the recipe with me. Actually, here's the recipe for his rolls that he gave me... "Be nice to Jeff, and he'll make them for you!" Real cute Jeffy... real cute.

5. I love Clinique's All About Eyes Rich Creme. It is AMAZING. I rarely ever have dark circles or puffy eyes. It's always apart of my night routine and I love love love it.

Imma Cut You...

My right calf muscle is being a little twirp and it's causing me lots of ANGER. I've been doing GREAT with my running, and I will be officially starting half marathon training in 2 weeks... so WHY did my right calf muscle decide to start disobeying me?

I mean, come on! I'm trying to do good things for my body here, so it's obnoxious when the body tries to go against the greatness. Not. Happy.

It's doing this perpetual gnarly knot thing. I've had to stop and stretch it out during runs more than I'd like to and it gets tight and knotted again pretty quick. The other night I got a Charley Horse and everything as well. Boo.

I've been hydrating like a mad woman, I take my multi-vitamin, I'm really good about stretching and eating correctly. It could... POSSIBLY, have something to do with a 4-wheeling accident I got in 3 years ago. The 4-wheeler rolled on me and a friend, and the back emergency bar or whatever it is, smashed the back of my legs with all it's weight. Apparently, I should have had two broken legs, but I have SUPER intense (and weird) calf muscles (the only muscle in my body that's overly defined) and I guess the muscles protected the bone, or SOMETHING. Whatever, glad they didn't break but I had to deal with "traumatized" calf muscles for about a month. Not a pleasant experience. It was like a perpetual Charley Horse.

Any suggestions on what to do with this freaking problemo? ANY and ALL tips, suggestions, advice, help would be gladly welcomed. It's really bugging me and I don't want it to affect my progress.
